It’s lighter-flicking awesomeness that will melt your face clean off.īrütal Legend’s combat is a combination of classic action slasher and real time strategy mechanics. Follow Eddie as he embarks on a tour of epic destruction with an axe, a guitar, and his minions as he commands the power of rock in epic band battles. The vivid and wildly creative world of Brütal Legend is brought to life through a spate of chrome, leather, rocker babes, epic music, fire-breathing/stud-wearing beasts, mountains made of guitar amps, and more.
Included as a free bonus in the PC version of Brütal Legend are both the Hammer of Infinite Fate and Tears of the Hextadon multiplayer map packs. Featuring the talents of comedian, actor and musician, Jack Black as super roadie Eddie Riggs, as well as cameos by some of the biggest names in metal music it's a wild ride in the belly of the beast that is not to be missed by gamers and Metalheads alike.
Set in a universe somewhere between Lord of the Rings and Spinal Tap, it’s a fresh take on the action/driving genre, which in this case is full of imitation cover bands, demons intent on enslaving humanity and Heavy metal tunes.
The process may take another 16 years, but Double Fine may in the future pursue another mainline Psychonuats title.Brütal Legend is an action-adventure that marries visceral action combat with open-world freedom. However, Schafer does not exclude the possibility of a third entry in the series, arguing that Double Fine doesn’t “break the door on anything”. Schafer explains the future of Psychonauts in the same interview and how there are “no plans right now” for Psychonauts 3. Schafer’s hope is that fans of the game may get their hands on the sequel they’re seeking for. In our interview with Tim Schafer after the release of Psychonauts 2, Schafer talked a little about the difficulties in developing sequel ideas for Brutal Legend, which he wanted or the fans want, after admitting his love for the original’s RTS components.
Brutal Legend has always been the cult classic we all know and love today, although the game’s polarising RTS gameplay is apparently the reason why we haven’t seen a sequel yet.
Schafer’s tweet doesn’t go any further into Brutal Legend’s development, so it’s impossible to figure out what caused Double Fine to add single-player or if Brutal Legend was originally planned to be launched as an exclusively multiplayer title. According to Schafer, the development of Brutal Legend’s single-player program began after the game was released a year ago. Schafer explained that Brutal Legend began developing as a multiplayer title, possibly a real-time strategy game comparable to what we now call Brutal Legend’s multiplayer mode. Psychonauts 2 were completed by One Banana, which Has Reached Me. It’s hard to forget that RTS elements in the single-player or multiplayer mode included in the game are a rarity, but according to Double Fine founder Tim Schafer, that’s exactly what Brutal Legend was originally going to be. Most people who played and enjoyed Brutal Legend back in 2009 should remember the game’s stunning soundtrack, wittable protagonist, and fast-paced combat.
